Sky's 1st Birthday

Skylin's first birthday was so much fun!!! She is getting to be such a big girl. She walks everywhere and is a little chatter box. Of course we can't understand what she's saying, but she's always talking. She loves to play and is pretty good at entertaining herself. Her recent thing is to put everything into the bathtub. She also really likes this old flybar bouncy ball. She carries it everywhere and even fell asleep with it the other night. She also really likes to look through books and point at all the pictures. This girl makes us laugh all the time! She's so funny. I wish I could describe it, but there isn't a way to. Her personality is just to die for. She loves to be happy and laugh! Every time I look at her she has a smile for me. Sky weighs about 18.5lbs, which is the 10th percentile. I marked her on her growth chart, but I'm not sure of the height yet. Sky is so adorable! I thought she was perfect as a newborn, but she just keeps getting cuter. Seems impossible right? I love her so much and am so grateful she's a part of our family.

The day after Sky's birthday we had a little princess party for her. We had our family and a few friends over for cake and ice cream and to open some presents. She got some pretty good ones! Thanks to everyone who came! She had tons of fun and she devoured her cake. You can see for yourself in the million pics. I hadn't given Sky sugar until her birthday party and she's a fan! She totally crashed after everyone left. She played hard! Happy 1 year Skylin!

14 weeks

I'm 14 weeks pregnant now with baby #2. I feel like I'm already starting to show, not just feeling fat like I was with Sky. I've still been really sick lately. I thought the "morning sickness" went away, but it has come back full force. I can't say if this is worse than I was with Sky, but it definitely feels worse, because I have a lot more to do. However, my zofran is not working it's magic like it did with Sky either. My body just doesn't respond well to medication. I need strong doses of everything to make a difference. I'm managing though and am still really excited about this baby! I do like the feeling of being pregnant, just hope the throwing up can stop soon. Next week I get to schedule my ultrasound and I can't wait! I am going to be really surprised either way. What do you think baby #2 will be? A little brother or sister?

Thanksgiving Weekend

{I thought I should probably post Thanksgiving before Christmas gets here...}

Our Thanksgiving celebration was really fun. We had a long weekend to spend together! The night before we went to a turkey pit party. I know the weather has been ridiculously warm, but it was cold that night. Luckily! We ate Thanksgiving with my family and had pie night with Austin's family where we took some family pictures. I did a little black friday shopping with a friend... up at 4am with the crazies! I wasn't out to get anything special, so I had fun. We also had a date night with David and Juliette. We saw temple lights, ate dinner, drove some race cars, and ate ice cream! Pretty successful weekend to celebrate how much we have to be grateful for if you ask me!

Almost a year

Our little sweet, precious, perfect princess is 11months. It's crazy, but not. I am so grateful for this girl and to have her in our family! She makes me want to be a better person: kind, patient, and selfless. Oh how I love her! I am also so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me that I have been able to enjoy all stages of her babyhood. Sure, don't get me wrong, being a mom can often times be challenging and stressful, but over-all motherhood has been absolutely bliss. I have never felt in a rush for Sky to get to a next stage, but when she does I have enjoyed every bit of it. I count that as a blessing to be content with the stage of life you're at. I just hope I can stay that way forever! Life has been pretty crazy lately, but when I hold this girl everything seems just right.

Sky has been learning up the wazoo! She gives BIG open mouth kisses, waves hi, dances up a storm, climbs onto and into everything she can manage, opens cupboards, crawls up AND down the stairs, and has just barely been taking her few few steps all by herself. Her bed time schedule is great, but since I have been feeling really sick lately her naps have been thrown off. I'm going to have to focus on that in a few weeks. Sky has 8-10 teeth. Her first molars just barely popped through, but they're still working their way. I don't think Sky has gained any weight in the past month. She still weighs around 17.5-18lds. She pretty much just eats anything that we eat now days and more. Especially because she doesn't really like me to feed her anymore. 1 more month til cake and ice cream!

Halloween- Late, I know... Blame the Nauseous Lady

We had a splendid Halloween. Started it off a week early at a friend's party. We were a 70's family. We look like we belong right? We also went to our ward's Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival. Good times were had! It's fun passing out candy, but it may be even better collecting some with Sky next year. We'll see.

10 is a big number

10 months sounds a whole lot older than 9 months. The toddler years are approaching fast! Sky is very active these days. Not walking, but I believe that she could. She was the same with crawling. I guess it's a good characteristic to be cautious of new things. Sky will eat anything you put in front of her. She has very good eating habits and has never spit anything out! Serious. It's crazy. She still sleeps 11-12hrs at night and takes 2 naps a day. She dropped a snack time the past couple weeks and only eats 4 times a day now. She almost weighs 18lds. She is done nursing as of the past couple weeks as well. It's so fun watching her learn. Things seem to be clicking for her a lot more recently. She points at everything. has put my phone up to her ear a couple times, and has started to break out some dance moves. It's so cute! We just love her.

Utah Trip

At the end of last month we took a trip to Utah. We went up before conference and stayed to watch it. We were excited to spend more time in Utah than just a couple days! We had so much fun seeing friends and relaxing as a family. Sky did good on the trip seeing that we mostly drove at night. We had tons of fun and made great memories. Love trips! Thanks to everyone who let us crash at their place... Rick and Alexis, Annie and Spencer, Zac and Carla... thanks mucho amigos! We love you!
