St. Patrick's Day Play Date

A couple Fridays ago I did a St. Patrick's Day play date for Sky and some of her friends. A few reasons why: I love talking things up to Sky and getting her excited for something, we needed some variety in our life, and we spent St. Patrick's Day at Disneyland. (Which I'll update on later.) It was a lot of fun! The weather has been perfect, so we did it outside. We had plenty of green snacks, had an egg race, and a cake walk. It was so cute watching these kiddos try to play! I love being a mom. Fun times are endless.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day came and went a while ago, but I didn't want to pass up posting some pics. Holidays just keep getting better and better with the kids. We had a wonderful Valentine's. I love any day that gives me another excuse to spoil my family. Plus, I'm all about the cheesiness! Austin does a pretty great job at measuring up. :) He came home from work and we had a lunch date while the girls were napping. It was perfect.

9months

My Truly is 9months old! Getting up there in baby stages, I can't believe. Did you know that Tru is now that age Sky was when I got pregnant with her? Weird. Truly is an angel! We love her so much. Now that she's crawling, pulling herself up, and trying to climb everything, her and Sky are a crack up together. Tru loves being under things. Like she always crawls under the pool table and they're always chasing each other around it. It's so cute!

Truly weighs 18.6lbs. She still only has 2 teeth. She loves her mama! She doesn't like people wearing hats. She loves being outside and she entertains herself far better than Sky ever did. She claps her hands, waves, and loves the bath. She is such a joy!! We love her so much!

about me.

I'm 23 now. I did have a great birthday. Austin didn't work and pampered me all day. We even got an escape to play some racquetball. He brought me home some ice cream after mutual and we watched some tv. It was a very happy day. Seeing as it was my birthday, I've decided to share some facts about myself that you might not know.

1: I love writing in my journal. I find it an easy way to sort my thoughts. I keep journals for my girls I write in a couple times a month. I cherish them so much! I may even keep them in our fire safe. Just for fun, I've written 24 pages of journal entries this year as of date.

2. To me, going to bed with a dirty kitchen is like committing a crime. Not to mention that waking up to a dirty kitchen would give me serious anxiety and set me up for a terrible day.

3. I hate cooking. Hate it. I'm jealous of women when I see how much they enjoy it. However, I do like my family fed and fed well.

4. Even more than cooking, I HATE grocery shopping!! I can shop for clothes, wood, paint, carseats, pretty much anything, but shopping for food is definitely on my chore list. I dislike it so much that Austin even shops for me when he has the time. I make the lists and he shops. Man. Of. My. Dreams.

5. I find much joy in making lists for everything. Doesn't matter what it is that's on my mind... There's probably already a list saved on my phone. My good friends that live close by could tell you that every Thursday is my laundry day.

6. I really like being pregnant. When I say that in person I feel like people judge me and act like I'm making it up or something, but I really do. I think it's an absolute miracle and I love my body when I'm pregnant. I don't care how sick I get at the beginning, I'm just happy to know there's a baby inside me. I rarely complain about being pregnant (minus the few weeks before my due date if you talk to my patient husband :)

7. All time FAV tv show is The Cosby Show. Austin and I have also been known to have late nights watching Boy Meets World and Gilmore Girls. I have a REALLY hard time getting into much of anything popular today. Not that I could without having tv to watch.

8. I adore a newly painted anything. There's always something to paint on my painting list and it's hard to go more than a few months without redoing or changing something with paint. I guess that would be considered a hobby.

9. One of my favorite things to do with Sky is read to her. Before bed, I climb into bed with her and read her a long story. I love how into it she gets and that we get some cuddle time before bed. I'm excited when Tru's old enough to squeeze into the bed with us.

10. The only thing I REALLY want in life is to be an amazing wife and mom. I feel complete when my husband is proud of me and I know that my kids are incredibly happy.

And that's a little more about me...

New backyard

Lovin the new backyard, folks. Really loving. I gave Austin such a hard time with wanting astro turf the entire time we've lived here, but now that we have it, I'm way glad I let the yard be his thing. We finally found some guys who quoted us half the price anyone else had, so we are happy with the quality we got and price we paid. What do I love about having fake grass?

1: anything is better than rock.

2. We play outside SO much more.

3. No watering, no mowing (and believe me when I say I have never mowed a lawn in my life)

4. I actually like to lay in it better than real grass... Not itchy, smelly, crawling with bugs.

5. The backyard is now my go-to activity whenever I need time to get something done alone. I need to make dinner... Go play outside. I need 2 min of quiet time... Go play outside.

(don't mind all the chalk, in the background. Sky loves to draw with anything and on everything these days. In fact, at this moment her legs are covered in pen.)
