So first off, I do like Pinterest. It took me longer than most people to sign up, but I really enjoy it. I actually use a lot of the things I find from advice, recipes, decor ideas, party ideas, and so on. It's definitely helped me a lot out in the kitchen when I need something new for my menu planning. I don't consider myself addicted. There's a lot of things I see that just don't interest me. On that note...
I've thought one too many times of creating a board called "Who would pin that?" I think it might come off offensive though. That's why I'm randomly ranting on my blog, since not too many people actually read this thing. Some of the things that would be included on my "Who would pin that board?"
1: pictures of little kids wearing make-up. Especially because the only people I really see doing this are people who don't have kids at all... Is that really what you want your future kids looking like??
2: pictures of animals. I really don't find any animal to be attractive. And I just don't get why there's random animal pictures floating around on Pinterest.
3: so. many. baby. items. I'm so glad I didn't have Pinterest when I became a mom, because I get embarrassed for a lot of first time moms and their baby "necessities" pins. People, babies are not that high maintenance!
4: failure recipes. I try the majority of the food I pin. There a lot of great recipes, but some are terrible. Why does someone out there take the time to pin a recipe or make it look better than it is when it is in fact NOT GOOD?
5: all the "how to organize your whole life" pins. Don't get me wrong, I love organizing and I work hard at it! I love a clean and peaceful home, but let's get real here... People's homes do NOT look like that. I think it has created a facade in too many girl's minds of unrealistic expectations. The pictures on Pinterest are PICTURES. I'm the first person to admit that clutter drives my OCD haywire, but we cannot expect our homes to be perfect and still tackle all of our other responsibilities.
Ok, I'm stopping my rant there. Anything you see on Pinterest that makes you cringe?
